In April 2025, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut issued a landmark ruling denying a motion to dismiss by ACA Capital Group Ltd. and Celestial Tide. The court determined that under federal common law, the Trustee had presented sufficient evidence to exercise jurisdiction over these foreign shell companies on the basis that they were the functional alter egos of the debtor ecosystem, systematically utilized to shield, route, and hold assets.
